On June 21, 2022, the Social Insurance (“SI”) Agency of Ho Chi Minh City issued Official Letter No. 3288/BHXH-QLT (“Official Letter 3288”) guiding the implementation of payment of SI, health insurance (“HI”), unemployment insurance (“UI”), occupational accident and disease insurance (“OADI”) from July 1, 2022 for employers in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Official Letter 3288, employers should pay attention to the submission deadline for the application for the adjustment of SI as follows:
Employers must submit dossiers for the adjustment of salary, on which the employees’ SI, HI,UI and OADI contribution is based, for employees according to the new minimum salary (if any) no later than 25/07/2022.
After this time, if the amendment procedure is yet implemented, the SI agency shall temporarily adjust the salary, on which the employees’ SI, HI,UI and OADI contribution is based, equal to the new minimum wage for employees doing the simplest jobs until the employer finalizes the adjustment dossiers as per regulations.
The SI Agency only confirms the payment process of SI and UI and settles benefits when the set of dossiers for the adjustment of the regional minimum wage is consistent with the regulations of Official Letter 3288.
